The village of Bishopton is a small conservation area, the scale of this project will surround our village, taking up approximately 2000 acres of arable land, which has been graded as top fertile land by the ALC, this will reduce food production in the UK even further, the government push for green energy should not come at the detriment of good fertile arable land. The project is very close to the villages primary school making it a huge concern for parents for their children whilst under construction and detriment to health and safety once up and running. The project will have a negative effect on migratory birds that come flocking to this land every year, lapwings, curlews and geese, to name a few. The site of the solar farm sits directly alongside the only available walking route from the village that is used each and every day by the residents of Bishopton , dog walking, horse riding, biking, running, there are many equestrian stables in the village , one of which is Yorkshire Racehorse and Retraining and rehoming, which will be severely affected by the running and construction, as this route is used on a daily basis by the owner to carry out the amazing work she does. The close proximity and the scale of this project to our small conservation village, will come at a huge cost and significant impact, for the health and well being of its residents, they chose to live here to enjoy the benefits of uninterrupted countryside.
