The solar farm should be on an industrial setting rather than near people's homes. There is an industrial estate less than a mile from the village and instead of utilising that, green spaces are being used. The green space in Darlington is very limited and is becoming even more so with new houses being built nearby. Why is land which is already fit for purpose not being considered? Likely because it’s more expensive and the solar farm construction company aren’t willing to pay the additional price to reduce their profit margins. My family and others in the village chose to live here to enjoy the countryside, the local walks, the environment and the peacefulness it brings. Unfortunately the solar farm will disrupt this both during it’s construction and once completed. Serious considerations need to be had about the value of people’s homes too.
