I strongly oppose the proposed Byers Gill Solar development due to its detrimental impact on the daily lives of residents in Bishopton, Carlton, Redmarshall, Whitton, Stillington, Sadberge, Great Stainton, and Little Stainton. This transformation of our rural landscape into an industrial power generation site is unacceptable and has sparked widespread concern and objection within our communities. The lack of consultation from RWE is deeply troubling, as evidenced by the company's refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue despite detailed objections submitted via Darlington Borough Council. Additionally, the sheer number of existing and planned solar power generation schemes in the area, along with RWE's dismissal of cumulative effects, further exacerbates the issue. The disregard for community concerns and democratic principles is alarming, and I urge the Planning Inspectorate to reject this project to safeguard the well-being of our communities.
