I object to Byers Gill Solar because I think panels should go on new buildings and factory roofs not on agricultural farm land. There is a requirement for renewable energy but wind is way more effective with less damaging effects for the countryside. Sheep can not be grazed under these. You just need to drive past Whinfield Solar Farm to see the ground has been covered with dolomite before the panels have been installed. Sheep can not graze on dolomite. If this MASSIVE solar plant goes ahead from every direction you look you will be able to see glass panels. It will be very depressing and I believe it will impact many peoples mental health and wellbeing. Local people are not being listened to. Enough is enough. Why should our local area have so big a concentration of these monstrosities in one place because these huge companies from abroad have seen an opening? We lose food security, we lose wildlife, we lose our rural areas and for what, the latest "fad" which is not effective, we don't even get that much sun and when we get the odd day, it is actually too hot for the panels. Someone needs to act now before the full country is covered in glass panels that can't be recycled.
