I oppose the proposed Byers Gill Solar development on behalf of the residents of Bishopton, Carlton, Redmarshall, Whitton, Stillington, Sadberge, Great Stainton, and Little Stainton villages, whose daily lives would be severely impacted by this project. The conversion of our rural environment into an industrial power generation site by RWE is met with widespread concern and objection, yet the company has failed to engage in meaningful consultation with the community. Despite submitting detailed objections through Darlington Borough Council, RWE's refusal to address our concerns and consider cumulative effects demonstrates a blatant disregard for the well-being of local residents. This lack of transparency and accountability undermines trust in the democratic process. I urge the Planning Inspectorate to reject this project to protect the quality of life and interests of our communities.
