I do not support Byers Gill Solar Farm The negative impact on the local area and residents during the construction Phase and if approved the operation activities Increase in traffic and congestion on small village roads affecting the daily lives of residents The loss of agricultural land affecting the food supply chain and the need for a level of self sufficiency It is doubtful if land used for solar farm development can ever be reclaimed for agricultural use The surrounding areas will be changed from nature-rurality-agriculture to that of industrialisation with solar panels-battery sub stations-security fencing and CCTV The developers preference for the lowest cost results in the cumulative effect of solar farms being developed around sub stations and solar clustered in concentrated areas The surrounding local areas already approved with Byers gill development will have a detrimental effect on local wildlife and habitat The efficiency of solar panels is low compared to offshore wind turbines making more area required to generate a sufficient amount of energy
