I wish to register my objection to the Byers Gill solar panel development proposal. I work in the NHS and have spent the last three years working under extremely difficult conditions due to the need to provide a testing service for thousands of Covid-19 specimens a day for the hospitals in the Teesside area. [REDACTED] as a result of the stresses involved in this work, and the stress continues today with the continued need to provide a service with insufficient resources. My husband and I took the decision to move to Bishopton from Billingham in 2022 [REDACTED]. I find that the drive home helps me to wind down as my views change from urban to rural landscape. I find now, with this proposal, that there will not be a route that I can take in or out of the village that will not be affected by the development and I will be greeted by the site of high fences and security measures that will make me feel like I am commuting from and to a prison camp. I feel that the use of solar panels has its proper place on rooftops rather than taking up agricultural land. Food production in this country should be encouraged to remain rather than create conditions that make it easier for farmers to give up their land for a relatively short-term development that would render the land useless for agriculture at the end of its life.
