I feel there will be too many solar power generation schemes in a small area. I live in Bishopton village, which is in a conservation area, and if the proposed scheme goes ahead the village will be surrounded by solar panels. When I drive to or from the village in any direction I will see many agricultural fields filled with solar panels. I moved to the village 8 years ago to be in the country side, not to be living in the middle of an industrial site. I run, go for walks with my family, take my [Redacted] on her bike down Mill lane regularly as it it a lovely quite road where you can enjoy the countryside. If the proposed project goes ahead this will be spoilt. The view of the lovely fields where you can see wild life running through it will be gone, replaced by solar panels. The roads will have a lot more traffic on them causing more damage to the already badly damaged roads. Bishopton and Redmarshall school [Redacted] will not be the same. The school will over look the unsightly solar panels. Even if trees and hedgerow are planted it will be years before it will be of a height to hide the panels. There will be a lot of construction noise while the plant is being build, this will have a negative effect on the children. The roads around the village regularly flood with heavy or persistent rain making the roads impassable this will only be made worse with the loss of crops and runoff from the panels. Agricultural land is needed in this country; we should not be replacing it with solar panels when there are other places the solar panels can be placed for example, on roofs of houses, commercial buildings and non agricultural land. I am all for green energy but in the right places, not when it will change the character of a village, be very close to residential areas, take away agricultural land and destroy wildlife habitats.
