I firmly oppose the proposed Byers Gill Solar development, as it poses a significant threat to the daily lives and well-being of residents in Bishopton, Carlton, Redmarshall, Whitton, Stillington, Sadberge, Great Stainton, and Little Stainton villages. The conversion of our cherished rural environment into an industrial power generation site by RWE is deeply concerning and has sparked widespread objection within our communities. Despite submitting detailed objections through Darlington Borough Council, RWE's lack of consultation and refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue is alarming. Furthermore, the company's dismissal of cumulative effects and disregard for community concerns undermines the democratic decision-making process. It is imperative that the Planning Inspectorate rejects this project to protect the interests and livelihoods of our communities.
