I am totally opposed to the Byer’s Gill Development proposal. We are fortunate to have been able to create a well established wildlife haven here at Carr House which is classified as a SNCI / Local Wildlife Site on Ordnance Survey Maps. The site has been untouched by pesticides and as such hosts an abundance of insects, bees, damselflies and dragonflies and all varieties of birds and wildlife. I feel we are privileged to be custodians of our countryside and as such ought to do everything in our powers to protect and enhance it for future generations to come. This development being within only 3m of our boundary will put the above at huge risk. The noise from construction and subsequent maintenance of the site and substation which is to be situated within just 200m of our boundary will have an unprecedented impact on our lives and the lives of all the above mentioned wildlife which cohabit alongside us. The local stakeholders are some of the wealthiest land owners in the area. Their properties and sites have dwellings with huge rooftops, outbuildings and henhouses which could easily support many solar panels. Surely it would be beneficial and feasible to site these developments on areas such as these, on factory units and industrial sites rather than spoil the character of our beautiful countryside rather than totally obliterate acres upon acres of prime agricultural land. The main site entrance is proposed to be on the main highway just a short distance from our property. This road is an extremely busy stretch for commuters, emergency services, farm traffic, cyclists and motor bike enthusiasts. The huge increase in construction traffic, HGV’s delivering piling equipment, diggers and shipping containers together with the panels and battery units, cabling etc as well as the day to day construction staff, 7 days per week, 8am - 8pm for 18 - 24 months will undoubtedly have a substantial impact on the road surface, foundations of our property and many other roadside properties as well as causing major safety issues on this 60 mph stretch. The continuous visual impairment as well as the noise from all these vehicles will be detrimental to my wellbeing.
