I object to this application. Firstly, the size and scale of the solar power plant will change the rural character of the village that I grew up in. Secondly, while I appreciate the need for energy security, sacrificing large amounts of farmland for solar panels will have a knock-on effect on our food security. Thirdly, the construction of the solar power plant will massively increase the amount of traffic and large vehicles that go through the village, thereby leading to increased noise and air pollution for the residents which include my parents. The High Street is already congested with parked cars due to a lack of parking in the village and I also have concerns that added heavy traffic will result in damage to cars. Lastly, the increased traffic down the lanes will put people at risk as it is regularly used by residents for leisure and exercise, for example cycling and walking dogs. The lane is narrow, winding, and clearly unsuitable to large vehicles - there is a sign at the start of the lane informing HGV drivers to turn back.
