Our home is on the flight path to Luton Airport and I am concerned about the increase in air traffic that this will cause which will impact on our daily lives, in particular during the night time when it is sometimes impossible to sleep in the summer with the windows open, with flights going over the house into the small hours of the morning. It is sometimes intolerable to sit in the garden or entertain family and friends, with planes constantly flying over. Secondly, I am concerned about the impact this will have on the environment, with increased pollution, and impact on peoples health where the planes fly over, emitting fumes. Thirdly, I am concerned about the increase in traffic that further footfall at an already busy airport will bring into the area, in particular the M1 where there are already frequent accidents caused by too much traffic, and on the surrounding roads. Finally, expansion of Luton airport will doubtless cause me difficulty in selling my house, and will devalue my property.
