The project should not go ahead. London Luton Airport (LLU) has an appalling record in controlling flights to and from its airport and complying with noise requirements. The current application , vastly increasing passengers is a transparent step to a yet further application in for a second runway and still further expansion of an airport which is unnecessary given the proximity of LHR , Southend, London City and Stanstead airports. Both the current and inevitable further application will add to noise pollution which affects my property, especially with early morning engine run ups (and the proposed area for run ups is unlikely to materially reduce noise for me) and (more)late flights, often arriving outside permitted hours. The loss of open countryside, increased traffic and especially the noise pollution that will arise are such that the application should be dismissed.
