The excessive noise, which has not been properly taken into consideration. The fact that the organisation who have put forward the proposal, consider that most people will travel to the airport by public transport. This is simply not the case. The increased traffic on all roads leading to the airport, such as the Lower Luton Road, which at certain times can be heavily congested. The fact that large areas of biodiversity will be taken up permanently, with devastating affects on the natural habitat. To simply state, that new areas will be created for displaced creatures is ridiculous at best, as once the creatures have left, they are unlikely to return. The proposers have historically when speaking about the proposals, chosen to focus on Luton only, and how this will benefit the community. When Open Days were held and they were confronted on why all of the other villages and towns were not mentioned, there was little or no thought on this. In reality, some of the villages and towns around the area may be more heavily affected by the proposals than Luton Town.
