Hello, I have been a regular user of Luton airport for a number of years. It used to be a reasonably pleasant and above all quick way to travel however that is no longer the case. It has already grown too big, expensive, soulless and complicated for comfortable use. As an aside I noted that the new rail link is recorded as being the most expensive in the country. There are too many people using it already and facilities are strained so it seems counter intuitive to increase the numbers of passengers by such a significant number. The impact on the surrounding areas will be even bigger than it is currently with aircraft overhead more frequently contributing to the noise and pollution levels that are already too high. The statement that 11000 new jobs will be created is also somewhat suspect. What will all these employees be doing then, where will they park and how do they travel to this already congested site? I cannot see this being any improvement to the lives of the citizens (and voters) who live in the surrounding counties or even the south of this country that already has 4 major airports. Strangely called London airports even though most of them are at least 30 miles away.
