The airport should not be expanded on environmental grounds. Air travel is one of the main reasons that global warming is happening. If the airport nearly doubles in size pollution from aircraft on the ground and at height will double. Car and lorry pollution will double. Noise pollution will double. The ice caps and glaciers are melting, the weather world wide is getting more extreme. We should not be doubling air traffic at this airport. Expanding the airport is just putting another nail in our coffins.
