We live approximately 6 miles from the airport, We are under the flight path to the south. We live adjacent to the B653, which is becoming heavily congested, and a well used "rat-run" to Luton Airport, especially when either the A1M or M! have been impacted. Whilst we travel by air, and therefore recognise the implicit demand for air travel and the need for expansion. We also recognise the environmental impact. because of our location we are impacted by noise, traffic and pollution, as well as the global impact on the environment. Any increase in capacity needs to: - take steps to ensure the environmental impact is not increased (nor impact other general mitigation efforts - so no double counting!) - make sure that steps are taken not just to resolve problems within the Luton council area, but all the adjacent areas that are impacted. I note that the HCC Traffic LTP#4 just notes that traffic on the B653 will increase significantly - partially caused by Luton Airport. it takes no material steps to ameliorate this. other than some wishful statements about walking and e-vehicles.
