The impact on the local environment, i.e. road congestion in the surrounding area, the pollution caused by more aircraft be it by aviation fuel, and co2 fumes and noise. The loss of green space in the surrounding area, i.e. Wigmore park. I also fail to see how the airport can increase it capacity when it only has one runway and aircraft would be sitting on taxiways waiting to get clearance to take off. As an ex airport employee I am aware with faults with the present terminal building (Leaking roof for one) and roadways, perhaps it would be better to address those problems before trying to expand. Luton Airport will always be a regional airport trying to be bigger than it is, just stay regional and do it well.
