The location in which I live feels under threat by this expansion. Noise complaints are summarily dismissed by the Airport authorities and doubling the current number of passengers can only make this worse. I have not been reassured, at all, by the claims of air quality both during the build phase E.g digging up a previous landfill but also as a consequence of pollution caused by the increased number of flights which seems completely at odds with government aspirations to reduce air pollution by internal combustion engines. Finally it’s deeply upsetting to see a much loved and used country park be demolished for this purpose which in no way takes into consideration the usage of the park. A clear illustration being the proposed replacement field is a constant slope how could kids play football on this it’s not a like for like replacement which is unfair it illustrates a lack of understanding of the current use or worse shows a lack of consideration to the taxpayers who use the facility.
