The proposed expansion of London Luton Airport to 32 million passengers per year will cause excessive strain on local transport networks, including rural roads in Hitchin & Harpenden. They will also cause a detrimental impact on local communities through increased noise and air pollution. We are already blighted by serious noise pollution as a result of last summer's change in the flight paths over Harpenden. We are forced to sleep with ear plugs and all windows closed with flights at times starting as early as 4am! The noise pollution is so bad that we are sadly forced to seriously considering moving.
