My main concern with the planning application is the loss of the parkland between the housing and the runway. This currently acts as a buffer for noise and pollution. It was previously a waste tip but was turned into the park when the houses were built. It is now an area of mature parkland and I feel this will greatly affect the general environment of our housing estate to loose this and be replaced by airport buildings. The replacement leisure area proposed will not do the same thing ,I couldn't work out from the plans how to get there. It seems to be a distance away near the end of the runway . My concern is also what the effect of disturbing the ground that was a waste tip will be. I know tests have been done, but I do not believe they can know exactly what is there after all these years. I am worried that where we live will seem like part of the airport. I have lived here 35 years and the airport has not been an issue before for me, you accept reasonable noise as part of living here.
