My main issue with the airport is the noise it creates. I live under the landing flight path and the airport already impacts my wellbeing. When planes are coming in overhead it is not possible to have a conversation in the garden due to the noise of the planes. when the wind is coming from the east (which increasingly seems to me more of the time) I cannot have my windows open at night due to the noise. This has been the case in the last few weeks we've had of hot weather. As there is no night flying restriction at Luton Airport planes come in late at night and during the early hours of the morning disturbing my sleep. Everyone should be allowed an uninterrupted nights sleep otherwise mental health issues can ensue. I have already been notified that I should be in line compensation from the airport should the expansion go ahead, which I take as an admission of guilt that they know the expansion is going to have an adverse effect on it's surrounding villages few of which will benefit from any of the charitable benefits the airport may support as the are in other local authority areas. I already suffer from [REDACTED] due to airport noise. Now there is the added anxiety of more noise over a longer period of the day and the possible devaluation of my property due to airport expansion. I appeal to your sense of fair play and ask 'would you want to purchase a property under the Luton Airport flight path'? The airport already increased to 19 million without telling anyone. Now is the time to call a halt to any further expansion of Luton Airport and bring in no overnight flying. The main impact for me is plane noise. When the wind is coming from the East the planes land over Caddington. This affects my quality of life. If you are sitting in the garden you cannot have a conversation while the planes go over, which is every few minutes in the Summer. I cannot have my windows open at night as the planes wake me up and as there is no nightime restriction for Luton, planes land at all times of night. I would like an independent person to check the volume of noise as planes come in, the planes are quite low. [REDACTED] I also worry about the amount of pollution this causes. Increasing the amount if flights will mean less sleep and more anxiety for me through lack of sleep.
