We are pleased to learn that Luton Rising has submitted its application for the long-term sustainable growth at the airport. Support from Luton Rising has helped many local projects flourish and that includes Inspire FM’s flagship annual event of Inspire Eid, which is designed to make the celebration of Eid accessible and affordable to all in the town and we would not be able to put this event up without the support of Luton Rising. Inspire Eid is a local event with over 40,00 attendees over the two events and with the support of Luton Rising we were able to put the smiles on all those families in Luton. Inspire FM works with many community organisations and we are aware of so many community projects which will cease to exist if they did not receive the support from Luton Rising. Hence the support from Luton Rising is a critical part of so many local community organisations in Luton, so while the Luton Rising plan will help strengthen the town’s economic stance but it will also help so many local organisations exist in the town. The impact on the local community will be direct and in-direct, where many will benefit from being able to have a much bigger airport locally, which will stop unnecessary journeys to airports outside Luton, but in-directly the whole community will benefit by having more people travel through Luton and spend money locally in Luton. I will personally benefit with having many family members living in Europe and often having to travel to various airports in London to fly out to see my relatives, but now would be able to make the same journey locally from Luton. This will not only help me financially and save me but also the environment with making less journeys on the motorway. I think it is very important to remember Luton Rising is very serious about growing in a green and sustainable way and set limits on things like carbon emissions etc. For Inspire FM as a community organisation who has the needs and best wishes of the community at every decision and project it does, I think growth of the airport will be very beneficial for the whole community and with the growth and success of the airport we will be able to help and support so many of those less fortunate and vulnerable in our town.
