As a nearby resident, I strongly object to the proposed development of Luton Airport on the basis of noise and disurbance. Whilst we fully support the development of LLA as a source of local employment and an asset to the local economy, this must be balanced with the needs of the community. Chief amongst these is the basic human need for undisturbed sleep. Whilst it is positive to see the mitigation steps in section 4.3.17 of the Planning Statement, the request to relax the current rules is not acceptable. Everything must be done to minimise noise between 23.00 and 07.00 and the statements that the proposed variation is justified simply because there are factors outside of LLA's control is not justifiable.
