I oppose the planned Luton Airport expansion for the following reasons. The number of passengers will increase from 18 million to 32 million per year therefore causing more congestion on our already busy roads. The increase in passengers will mean doubling of flights into and out of the airport with more noise and pollution. This airport is situated near residential properties, schools and businesses. This will have a detrimental affect on Wigmore Valley park, a necessary green space for residents in an overcrowded town. This park is a pollution and noise barrier between the airport and residents. The expansion goes against all the warnings we have had regarding climate change and threats to wildlife in this country.
