On behalf of the Connected Places Catapult I am writing to express our support for the Luton Rising airport expansion DCO. We believe that this project will bring significant benefits to the local area and the wider economy and it fits well within the Connected Places Catapult’s remit of using new and emerging sustainable technologies and novel commercial models to transport people and goods in a smarter, safer, greener and more efficient way. Connected Places Catapult (CPC) is a UK based neutral, not-for-profit, Technology and Innovation company. Our vision is for the UK to lead the world in creating cities, towns and places which thrive on their ability to connect people to resources, opportunities, ideas and each other. Where the smooth flow of people, goods, transportation, and services, drives economic success, productivity, and wellbeing. We are helping UK businesses create products and services that harness new technologies to capture a global opportunity to provide innovative solutions for the smooth flow of people, goods and services into and around places, to drive economic success productivity and wellbeing. In addition, we help to create and sell UK capability on the global stage, while also promoting the UK as a first-class test bed for the transportation industry and future cities infrastructure and planning. The expansion of Luton Airport will create up to 16,000 new jobs, providing much-needed employment opportunities for the local community. It will also boost tourism revenue and support local businesses, helping to drive sustainable economic growth in the area. Furthermore, the expansion will improve the airport's infrastructure, making it more competitive with other airports in the region. It will also integrate sustainable aviation and technology innovations within it’s operations and will benefit the local economy and also enhance connectivity and accessibility for travellers. We fully support the Luton Rising airport expansion DCO and believe that it will bring significant benefits to the local area and the wider economy, and we look forward to seeing it come to fruition.
