There is no justification given the climate crisis we face to consider airport expansion, governments ought to be focused on flight reductions/ mileage allocations etc if we are to meet our climate targets. At a local level the noise impact will hugely impact our quality of life plus the pollution from the kerosene will make the air quality appalling. The surrounding roads are already overcrowded as traffic attempts to avoid major routes to get to the airport ..this will be untenable if the numbers rise to proposed levels also adding to pollution levels . Parts of the Chiltern way are to be ruined.. surely we are not in the business of destroying ares of outstanding natural beauty. Backward thinking instead of investing in new technologies and projects that might help save the environment.
