I believe this expansion is not required. The airport has steadily expanded several times in the last 20 years. In a town which already has the scientific distinction of having the worse pollution for size of population outside of alondon, and the fact that this expansion would mean the destruction of a wild life park which should be protected, and is one of the few green spaces left on this side of the town, the environmental impact will be devastating. Recent studies have shown that pollution impacts peoples health in a tangible way, including asthma and dementia. The increase in noise over the nearby peaceful village of Harpenden will also have a large impact, and will also affect environmentally with pollution over ancient protected woodland, and would impact the wildlife that thrives here
