In the current climate change environment I am deeply concerned that this level of aviation expansion is being contemplated. I believe that it should be rejected solely on these grounds. In addition it seems to be a very speculative development driven my Luton Council without any long term agreement of with either the current operator, who's contract will have expired before the proposed development has been completed, or anyone else. The scheme is based on passenger projections that do not fully take into consideration the changes in travel practices, particularly from Eastern Europe following the exit of the UK from the EU and the Government's stated immigration policies. I also understand, on a technical level, that the proposals do not take into consideration the Government stated plans for reductions in noise levels. The current plans propose to continue with existing level which themselves have included breaches of the existing legal levels in recent years. This is a blatant example of Luton Rising's lack of consideration to the proposed legislation and the impact its development will have on local residents. All of the above reasons should be enough to deny the application. Further, the environmental impact of the development is far from fully accounted for or properly valued with buildings constructed over undervalued existing parkland and agricultural land.
