The current noise levels over Caddington are already at unbearable levels, and result in significant air traffic from 11pm onwards in the summer. Given the airport is busiest during the summer, a large proportion of these additional flights will be during this time, and as far as I can see, there will be no protections from the noise at night for Caddington residents. Additionally, while insulation is being offered, given that most of the aircraft traffic is in summer, this is likely to be pointless given that most people will need to open windows / doors to keep the house cool. As such, we will be subject to the noise that we would suffer if we were outside during this time, which like I alluded to above, is already unbearable. I also object to the project on the basis that the current infrastructure in the local area is already not-fit-for-purpose, and the expansion is only going to exacerbate this problem. This is also going to significantly affect all residents of Caddington financially, as our homes are likely to be devalued. It will also destroy our quality of life given the additional noise and air pollution we will suffer. I also can't see how this can be justified when we (as a country) need to be reducing emissions to meet net zero targets.
