As a resident of New Town, Luton, I was frustrated to learn of the continued plans for the expansion of the airport. The decision to continue pressing ahead with this application, despite the lack of support from residents living on the London Luton airport flight path is unacceptable. The noise level which the expansion would no doubt impact, already is significantly damaging for the residents on Cutenhoe Road. We are at a point where in high summer, can cannot even have windows open due to the regularity of the overhead planes. They frequently do not meet the criteria for the night flight decibel level. This is despite the sanctions that are put in place which one would hope to be a deterrent and there to protect the residents whose sleep is often disturbed by continual flights. No consideration has been given to this expansion for the residents but seems to be more of financially-driven plan pushed by those who are not immediately affected by the plans to enlarge the airport.
