The proposed Eaton Green Link Road breaches the local plan that was adopted in 2017. Residential roads will become the main access route to Terminal 2 from the East of England and this airport traffic will pass 3 schools (Queen Elizabeth, Wigmore and Someries) I have concerns and doubts that the unregulated former Council tip will be removed safely due to its close location to homes and previous history of the Dart construction. This planned route includes installing 11 sets of traffic lights in Wigmore when there are none at the moment and will impact traffic flow and increase pollution significantly for local residents. This application includes increasing car parking spaces by over 50% using green field sites and Wigmore Park, meaning more traffic and pollution. The proposal should be reducing pollution and car parking and be promoting the use of the new Dart. The Dart will have no impact on reducing road traffic from the East of England unless the plan specifically encourages its use and does not facilitate car usage. Much of Wigmore Park will be destroyed, as will Luton’s County Wildlife Site and the application doesn’t intend to replace Wigmore Park with a new park fully within Luton so can’t count as Luton Open Space and I will live too far from the replacement Wigmore Park so I and others won’t use it nearly as much without having to drive adding yet more traffic and pollution.
