I object to these proposals and I am concerned about: - The destruction of Wigmore Park wildlife and open space for the community and replacing it with a second Terminal and more Carparks. - The removal of unregulated landfill threatens the health and lives of the local residents and environment. - Increased air pollution from 80,000 extra flights and 40,000 extra vehicle journeys - Increased noise pollution that already deprives local residents of sleep and has a detrimental effect to human health. -Increased light pollution that has a negative impact on local residents and wildlife. - The Eaton Green Link Road breaches the local plan that was adopted in 2017. - Increased traffic congestion. Local roads will become the main routes to the airport. - Airport traffic will pass 3 schools (Queen Elizabeth, Wigmore and Someries) -The Dart will have no impact on reducing road traffic from the East of England. - Luton Borough Council (L.B.C.) have Declared A Climate Emergency but Expansion will increase Carbon emissions by 60% during a Climate Crisis ! - It ignores direct instruction from Government to reduce Luton's financial dependency on the Airport and adding to financial risk for L.B.C. due to overdependence on aviation growth. - Living close to the Airport I can already regularly smell aircraft fuel and am constantly disturbed by aircraft noise by day and night, especially in summer months. -Wigmore Park acts as a buffer between the Airport and Local Residential areas. Airport Expansion will remove this buffer. The proposed replacement park will be closer to the runway and will be exposed to the extra Air and Noise Pollution produced by Airport Expansion.
