To whom it may concern, Carlisle Support Services is a medium sized business with annual revenues of £120m per annum, and employs some 4,750 workers, with its headquarters in Luton. We would like to place on record our support and desire for the proposal extension to Luton Airport to be approved on the following basis: - The airport is already one of the largest employers in the locality and the expansion would see the need for increased employment opportunities that would bring in wider commerce to the local area. - The airport is well served by both Motorway links, the dedicated Spur road and the new DART, allowing for greater transports links to London and the North. - The expansion will provide more opportunities for local and international businesses to consider Luton as their preferred location for their business operations which would again create enhanced commercial opportunities for the local area. - Luton Rising will ensure they build better lives in Luton and support our most vulnerable residents including a unique contribution to the breadth of front-line services in Luton - A commitment that for every passenger travelling through, 53p is invested directly in local community causes: 20 times that of any other UK airport - Luton Rising has gone further than any other UK airport to minimise and mitigate the environmental effects of the proposed growth, putting forward a unique Green Controlled Growth framework that will set independently-monitored limits for each of the four main scalable impacts (of noise, carbon emissions, surface access and air quality) beyond which growth cannot take place. As a key business leader and organisation I hope the proposal is accepted and that we can all see the local area move even further forward.
