  1. There would be a huge increase in noise and air pollution in the highly populated area around Luton Airport and its flight paths. 2. Air pollution in particular would contribute to higher premature mortality in the area. 3. The development would destroy much needed community green space. 4. The development is in breach of the Government’s stated legally binding aims to reduce PM2.5 emissions, halt the decline in species populations and deliver net zero ambitions. 5. The development is likely to cause leaching of harmful materials into the local water supply which is already stressed by demand and pollution. 6. This development is clearly not sustainable in any sense of the word. 7. The increase in passenger numbers is unnecessary given opportunities to use digital communications internationally.
