As a home owner who would be immediately impacted by the increase in air traffic this will affect my and my family's day to day life with noise pollution, as well as it reducing the value of our property. Climate change is a pressing global crisis with far-reaching consequences. The aviation industry, a significant emitter of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides, must contribute to mitigating its effects. The projected increase in carbon emissions resulting from the airport expansion would hinder regional and national efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. The consequences of climate change are already evident worldwide, with rising temperatures, extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and biodiversity loss being just a few examples. By adding to aviation's substantial carbon emissions, the expansion of Luton Airport would accelerate climate change, intensify environmental problems, and burden future generations even more. In summary, the proposed expansion of Luton Airport would have severe negative consequences. It would lead to increased noise pollution, strain local transportation infrastructure, and significantly contribute to carbon emissions, exacerbating climate change and its associated environmental challenges. These factors emphasize the urgency of finding sustainable alternatives and minimizing the airport's impact on the surrounding area and the planet as a whole.
