We know that in Luton people may die 8 years earlier than in other parts of the country. This is a horrifying statistic. Air pollution and traffic pollution are major culprits. I do not want a huge increase in the number of flights over my town, worsening the health of myself, my children, my children's children, and their children. The climate crisis is a reality, and I am seriously concerned for the welfare of future generations. It is insanity to even consider increasing flights over Luton when we know that this means death and worsening health, locally, nationally and internationally. Thinking more locally, I live off Crawley Green Road. I understand from the plans that airport expansion will mean that traffic will increase significantly on Crawley Green Road. It is possible that some drivers will attempt to use Hart Hill Lane as a rat run to escape congestion on Crawley Green Road. Hart Hill Lane is a single-track road, and significant numbers of people using it would be highly dangerous.
