Reasons why I’m totally against the expansion: The destruction of green space, the felling of trees on the A505 to incorporate the dual carriageways. The massive increase in pollution from the introduction of traffic lights at each roundabout on the airport access roads and the huge increase in road traffic and aircraft traffic. The huge increase in aircraft and road noise. The extra congestion on local roads from all the extra traffic. The impact on locals regarding long stay parking in residential streets. The arguments about the reduction of pollution from aircraft due to modern designs is ridiculous, doubling the aircraft, but halfing the emissions brings us back to where we are now. We should be reducing what we have now. I work at Luton airport, and live 5 min away, and the impact the expansion will have to me is dire. The councils greed, and poor financial management, their invested interest in the development company etc, is just scandalous. I will be looking to move should this get the go ahead, and hope my house value won’t take to much of a hit before I do.
