Main issue: the high carbon impacts of airport expansion, both in the build and in the increase in aviation traffic. We have to be drastically cutting our carbon emissions to retain a livable planet for future generations. Air pollution in and around Luton. My [REDACTED]grandson, who lives in Luton, is already breathing highly polluted air - which will inevitably impact his health growing up. We should be seeking ways to reduce local air pollution. Any increase in air traffic, and associated road traffic, will increase air pollution locally to the detriment of all children and young people growing up in Luton. If Luton Council wants to invest locally, let it be in green industry - in businesses that are seeking to create products and services to enable rapid expansion of retrofit, insulation, green energy, green transport. Green jobs. Not a bigger airport which will become a white elephant in the years to come.
