I was born at The L&D, lived in Dunstable and Luton until 16 and now in Hertfordshire. One of the revelations of lockdown was the improvement in air quality and noise reduction. Not having planes overhead every minute was bliss. Having pollutant free sunrise and sunset was a revelation. I know we can't go back to that, but we can't afford to increase these pollutants anymore. We have to scale back to reduce the climate catastrophe. I used to fly on holiday 2 or 3 times a year. Later this month will be my first flight since Christmas 2019. On top of that, tying the council into financial penalties based on another company's proffit is suicide, and so perverse that it beggars belief. There must have been some interesting golf course conversations to get that suggestion written down! Suicide is illegal and this should be too. We used to have to clearly separate The State from The Church. Now, it seems, we should separate The State from Business.
