The proposal to expand Luton airport will cause immense and continued environmental damage over a huge area and should be rejected. Any further expansion will result in an exponential rise in air and noise pollution over a huge area, further blighting the lives and threatening the health of millions of people. Over the last 20 years there has been a catastrophic drop in the numbers of insect and consequently bird species throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire as a result of high levels of pollution generated by Luton Airport. This must not be allowed to continue. It is time to put the environment before financial gain. It is a corrupt system that allows a council to own an airport and use it as an income generating scheme to the detriment of the health of the communities and environment it should be protecting and acting in the best interests for. As it is, many of the planes using the airport currently are not respecting the current noise abatement procedures and the current flight paths should be moved further north of St Albans over less populated areas.
