Whilst I can understand the reasons for the airport expansion, and I can see the benefits that it will bring to the town, I am against the proposals. This is due to the impact it will have on the environment. I am against the destruction of green spaces, and the loss of Wigmore Park is not a benefit. I am against the additional pollution that an increase in flights will bring. I am also strongly against the plans to have the entrance to terminal 2 on Eaton Green Road, and the plans to convert Wigmore Lane to a dual carriageway. The planned route in to the airport should be kept well away from these residential areas. This traffic will go past 3 schools, a local supermarket and shopping area, and hundreds of houses. I can only imagine how severe the impact will be on all those poor people who live along this route.
