I live under the flight path for landings when there is an easterly wind and planes fly over at well under 1000 feet. When outside, all conversation is effectively impossible, likewise telephone conversations inside and this can occur even now at 2 minute intervals before a respite. With the expansion the respite intervals will become shorter. I accept that some airport expansion is inevitable but at present Caddington (unlike parts of Luton) gets much of the grief but NO financial benefit. I propose that as part of any expansion agreement Caddington Parish Council should receive (at least) £5 for every daytime overflight, £50 for flights after 10 p.m. rising to £100 for flights between midnight and 6.00 a.m. These fees should double if the noise levels exceed a defined and agreed threshold. There should be no scheduled arrivals after midnight.
