The expansion of Luton Airport will cause considerable distress to residents on the flight path into the airport from the east. The change in the stack and hold pattern has resulted already in multiple aircraft coming over an extremely quiet rural area with very low ambient noise. This is causing residents a great deal of stress and further expansion of the airport with multiple additional flights will just add to this. It is ludicrous that there are so many airports and flights in such a concentrated area in a time where we should be considering the impact on the environment and reducing air travel. Luton Airport appear to have no regard for the impact on the environment, or on people trying to live a peaceful life. There seems to be a little understanding of the deleterious effects of noise pollution and their monitoring efforts have been beset by their inability to measure in an area with the poor mobile signal. Monitoring equipment should’ve been provided that was able to operate in all areas.
