Noise, particularly from aircraft departing in an easterly direction over Breachwood Green, has already reached an unacceptable level. In addition to night flights, there is a peak starting at 06:00 in the morning when it is not unusual for ten departures in thirty minutes - sleep is impossible, particularly in the Summer when windows are open. During the day it is impossible to continue a conversaton outside while an aircraft over flies the village, therefore I'm no longer able to enjoy outside recreational activities. Inside, telephone conversatons have to be halted and it is diffiult to listen to radio or television programmes. My wife and I have lived in our much loved Grade II listed building for more than thirty years. Despite frequent complaints and signed petitions to Luton Airport during this time, the noise disturbance has continually increased. The proposed increase from 18 to 32 million passengers per year will result in more flights and therefore more noise and more disturbance. This proposed increase is totally unacceptable, and must not be approved.
