I note that London Luton Airport Limited (LLAL) is proposing successive increases from 18 mppa now to 21.5 mppa by 2027 (+20%) then 27 mppa by 2037 (+50%) and 32 mppa by 2040 (+78%). LLAL’s proposals also seem capable of increasing to 36-38 mppa (+111%) at a future date. I object to all interim and final stages of Luton Airport’s expansion proposals for the following reasons: • I and other residents in St Albans are already blighted by existing air traffic levels overflying St Albans and all surrounding town and country environments. Any additional air traffic will be intolerable. • LLAL Plans Will Further Increase Noise Pollution • LLAL Plans Will Threaten Critically Limited Water Supplies • LLAL Plans Will Directly Increase Climate Change Damage • LLAL Plans Will Overstretch Rail Infrastructure • LLAL Plans Will Overstretch Road Infrastructure • LLAL Plans Will Destroy Existing Habitat • LLAL Plans Do Not Provide Justifiable Economic Benefits
