I am deeply opposed to the proposal to expand London Luton Airport. I am already disturbed by the disruptive noise of aircraft flying overhead. I am therefore distraught at the thought of additional disturbance being planned. Currently I am unaware of any viable aircraft that are not powered by burning hydrocarbons, and I certainly do not believe Luton Airport has plans to run any. Climate Change is a global issue which affects all of us, including me. I therefore find it absurd that anyone should consider expanding upon such an environmentally unsustainable mode of travel. Furthermore, I am wholly opposed to the expansion of London Luton Airport since it is situated on such an unsuitable site. It has a distinct lack of East-West road or rail connecting to it. This means that many of those who must suffer the consequences of its presence, such as myself, do not have good transport access to the airport. Additionally, the "Luton Airport Parkway" train station doesn't even go to the airport, instead stopping short at the bottom of the hill. I also oppose the expansion of Luton Airport because it will result in the loss of valuable countryside, it will damage the fabric of Luton, it will provide very little benefit to those of us it disrupts, and it will hurt the finances of the council.
