Luton Airport loses money. The council has over half a billion in loans to pay back. Luton is the most air-polluted town of it's size in the country. But Luton council wants to double the number of passengers. the environmental impact of increasing the size/number of flights is too high. plus the health impact on Luton's residents and the surrounding areas is too high. a different solution is required.
