Whilst I live under the flight path into Luton, and there will be an inevitable increase in aircraft in and out, I believe that upgrading the airport and associated infrastructure is a good thing. Not only will it increase employment levels at the airport, but it will also greatly improve the variety of available destinations. It would be an interesting statistic as to how many of those who object to the airport, actually have used it for their own travels. Also those who live under the flight path moved their knowingly. The airport has been where it is far longer than the majority of people have lived in their houses. I do think that enforcing the ‘no undercarriage down till past Stevenage’ rule that was trialled some time ago would be a good thing. It certainly made a difference to noise levels which may slightly appease some people.
