London Luton Airport Expansion

I think it is marvellous that the airport is expanding so will serve many more destinations than presently. My Wife and I always try to fly from Luton as it's such a great and easy to use airport. However, we would like to see long haul flights available from the airport of up to 10 hours which would cover most of the Caribbean, east coast of N.America as we as the middle East and India. This would involve a small extention to the existing runway, and would be a major asset to the airport. Look how Birmingham Airport has flourished since it's runway was extended as well as Bristol Airport.
